I generally charge by the word, rather than by the hour, although this may be negotiable for a particularly challenging document that requires more in depth work or has a design element, and this would be negotiated up front and an hourly rate agreed.

I charge a minimum price of £50, plus the following:

Standard Price per 1000 words for short work (for example essays/reports under 5000 words) - £10

Standard Price per 1000 words for longer work (for example reports/dissertations/PhD theses/extended essays over 5000 words) - £15

Hourly rate - £35

As soon as a document is received, I will carry out a word count in Microsoft Word and the rate per 1000 words (rounded up pro rata to the nearest 500 words) will be applied. For example, if your document is 4600 words, the rate will be 5 x £10 = £50 (plus the minimum fee of £50).
